Welcome to Castleview Private Nursing Home

The historical town of Carrickfergus is home to Castleview Private Nursing Home, a 36 bedded nursing home for adults with learning difficulties. Castleview is right in the centre of the beautiful town, with easy access to all the local facilities and resources.

Castleview Private Nursing Home opened in 1990 by Lynda and Tom McCourt, and is still run by the McCourt family today. It was born from a desire to provide an integrated service to people with a learning disability. We felt that the best place to enable residents to have a normal life style was in the centre of a busy town. Our residents would have easy access to all the local community resources not readily available in the countryside.

We took time, in order to choose the best possible setting that could offer us the ideal environment to fulfil our vision. We found our perfect building in the centre of Carrickfergus with beautiful views of Belfast Lough and Carrick Castle. We made extensive improvements a number of years ago to the building including adding extra bedrooms, en-suites, specialist equipment and an additional lift, ensuring all bedrooms are fully accessible.

All these improvements enhanced our residents’ lives in Castleview.
